The Friday Five from RevGalBlogPals:
The Fruits of the Spirit:
Pick any five of the following attributes and go wherever the Spirit leads you... your choice! Suggestions: When have you experienced this attribute? When have you struggled with it? Or who embodies it for you? Or if you're feeling light-hearted--just assign a fruit to each one. I think Generosity is a Banana, don't you?
Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Generosity, Faithfulness, Gentleness, Self Control.
-----------
Patience: A Mango, because it takes patience to peel and cut up the thing, but is worth it. My Sister embodies this attribute both through her work and research and in her relationships.
Joy: Pineapple, with it's sweet juicy flavor and golden color is like sunshine. A classmate of mine who's loving, cheerful presence brings sunshine and joy into the lives of those he interacts with.
Gentleness: Peach, because it's easily bruised and has a soft, fuzzy skin. My CPE Supervisor from last summer embodies this attribute, a very gentle and supporting soul (but definitely not weak).
Love: Strawberries, because they are red and associated with romance, and just as you can't have too much love in your life, you can never have too many strawberries. My Grandparents embody this attribute, both in their love for each other and for me and other members of the family.
Generosity: Lemons, because they give of themselves to add flavor to a wide variety of foods and dishes. My Mom embodies this attribute in how she gives of herself to family and friends she loves, doing what she thinks will be helpful, even if it impacts her schedule.
