Exercise! Woo Hoo

So... since I've had more free time, and since I was hoping the endorphins and other positive results from exercise would put me in a better mood and help me get more done if I was feeling energized and happy, and since I felt bad that the month fee I've paid the last couple months has basically gone to waste...

I've mangaged to get out and get a little exercise and get to the Gym lately. Woo Hoo. I'm feeling pretty good about it. I'm hoping that if I can get used to going now over the break, by the time the semester starts in a few weeks it will be more of a habit that I can keep up. I'll be used to going, and like going, etc. so it will be easier to make it a priority and fit it into my crazy schedule. That's the plan and the hope anyway.

So here's what I've been up to:
Sat. 12/31/05 - walking on the path by the river with R.
Sat. 01/07/06 - 30 min treadmill + 2 min cooldown
Tue. 01/10/06 - 35 min treadmill + 5 min cooldown (1.97 miles in 40 min)
Wed. 01/11/06 - 35 min treadmill + 5 min cooldown (2.07 miles in 40 min)
Thu. 01/12/06 - 10 min elliptical, 25 min treadmill + 5 min cooldown (1.55 mi)
Fri. 01/13/06 - 30 min recumbent bike + 5 min cooldown (6.64 mi)
and 5 min elliptical. Walking by river with K in p.m.
Sat. 01/14/06 - 20 min elliptical, 21.5 min treadmill,
and 20 min pool w/kickboard etc., then sat in jacuzzi :)
Mon. 01/16/06 - 40 min elliptical
Wed. 01/18/06 - 20 min elliptical and 20 min treadmill + 4 min cooldown

I hope I can keep this up. Trying to be careful and smart about it so I don't injure myself or get sick and then have to spend a lot of days off and get out of the habit I've started to build.

Going to try and bring in some weights soon, maybe attend the kickbox or step class some day soon too.

Met with a trainer today (1/18/06) - he figured out a real target heartrate (145-155 for approx 65%) for me based on my age, and my resting pulse - so now I'll have a better idea of where to hit when I'm working out.
